The ideas of today's phytagoreus

Written by

„All things are numbers”
/Pythagoras/

Martin Buber wrote: “In the beginning is the relation”1. I have liked this thought, but today I would prefer to say that “in the beginning is the information”. Information is nothing more than the relationship between things. This, of course, sounds strange, since brings up the question of how is it possible that one thing presuppose two things. I leave this paradox now without a word, but I will return to it sometime.2

I consider the information as a special kind of energy. Energy is a working ability and Tom Stonier3 defined information as settling ability. My revised Stonier’s definition is that information is a copying ability. The copying ability also means reproduction ability, so the information is the prerequisite for the appearance of life and then of the intellect.

2 It is worth noting that this idea is related to the theory of string theory, in which the elementary entities are not point-like, but similar to string.

Information vs Communication

Brief thoughts – apropos of an ÉS’s article1

Abstract by a quotation:

In our time, the language of politics has become infected with obscurity and madness. No lie is too gross for strenuous expression, no cruelty too abject to find apologia in the verbiage of historicism. Unless we can restore to the words in our newspaper, laws, and political acts some measure of clarity and stringency of meaning, our lives will draw yet nearer to chaos. There will then come to pass a new Dark Ages.”
/ George Steiner, The retreat from the word, 1961 /

To Grasp the Infinite

Written by

New dimensions

Abstract

For a long time the science considered the mathematic infinite only quantitatively, but the experience did not confirm the actual existence of the quantitative infinite. In addition the order as the character of numbers was defined on the infinite in Cantor ordinal numbers beside the quantitative properties of the numbers, but the ordinal numbers do not qualitatively distinguish the infinite ones as well.

As we modelled the specific type of mathematic infinite by the imaginary component of the two-element numbers, we set off on a way where the qualitatively different models of infinite meet our general experiences in the real world.
